Jönköping Sweden

Jönköping is a city in southern Sweden, located at the southern tip of Sweden's second largest lake, Vättern. Many Swedes refer to Jönköping as the Jerusalem of Sweden due to the numerous churches found in the city. This stunning Swedish city is also recognized as one of the cleanest cities globally and serves as Sweden's forestry and agricultural center. The city's rich history and culture, numerous parks and museums, and breathtaking natural beauty make Jönköping a fantastic tourist destination. Be sure to visit the ruins of Visingborg, once the most beautiful castle in all of Sweden. It was constructed by Lord Brahe in the 16th century. Much of the castle was destroyed by fire, leaving only the south wing intact. Visitors are permitted to explore this part of the castle. There are also many other castle ruins in the Jonkoping area to explore.
